Agra is famous for Taj Mahal and every year millions of tourists make a visit.

YESS…it is as magnificent as it is hyped………No wonder it is one of the WONDERS of the world.

Taj Mahal

It is a great destination for family outing or a weekend trip from New Delhi.

I liked everything about it except the hawkers, they will make your trip miserable …try not to get fooled by them, which is obvious for a tourist destination.

Destination to visits: you can divide it in two ways:

  • One day for Agra visit which should include Taj Mahal , Agra Fort , I’timad-ud-dualah Tomb also known as mini Taj , Mehtab Bagh , Akhbar’s Tomb , City Shopping (sadar Bazar).

  • Another day for Fatehpur Sikri below is the guide map which covers all the destinations. It is 40 kms from Agra main city and will take around one and a half hour to reach by road. Cab & autos are easily available and should cost around 800 -1000 INR total to and fro.

TIP: 1) when you reach Fathepur’s Auto stand from there take tourist bus which cost INR 10 and will drop you to No. ref. guide map otherwise the local auto drivers will try charge you around INR 300-500 for the same ride.

Local Transport: Ola cabs (Ola rental is the new feature which provides city tours), tourist cabs & autos are easily available. Try to book for the entire day it saves time and money both.

Where to shop: Agra is famous for Petha (a sweet made from squash), leather goods and handmade souvenirs. Sadar Bazar is a very famous market where you can shop as well as eat. Street food is good around the market. Just behind Sadar bazaar there is another market where shops sells souvenirs made by prisoners.

Hope this makes your travel easy…

Bye for now…
